User Settings

Open the hamburger menu → Settings for editor preferences (this is separate from the server-side settings.js file, which isn't accessible from the editor):

User Settings, Settings tab

Section Controls
Language The editor's UI language
Appearance → Theme Auto / Light / Dark
View Whether zoom level and scroll position are restored on load
Grid Show grid, snap-to-grid, and grid size
Nodes Whether node status, the info icon, and labels on newly-added nodes are shown
Update Notifications Whether the editor checks for and notifies about new Node-RED versions
Other Whether to show tips

These are per-browser preferences — they don't affect how flows run, only how the editor looks and behaves for you.

The same dialog also holds the Palette, Git config, Keyboard, and Environment tabs — see Managing the palette for Palette; Git config and Environment only matter if you've set up a Project.
