User Settings¶
Open the hamburger menu → Settings for editor preferences (this is
separate from the server-side settings.js file, which isn't accessible
from the editor):

| Section | Controls |
|---|---|
| Language | The editor's UI language |
| Appearance → Theme | Auto / Light / Dark |
| View | Whether zoom level and scroll position are restored on load |
| Grid | Show grid, snap-to-grid, and grid size |
| Nodes | Whether node status, the info icon, and labels on newly-added nodes are shown |
| Update Notifications | Whether the editor checks for and notifies about new Node-RED versions |
| Other | Whether to show tips |
These are per-browser preferences — they don't affect how flows run, only how the editor looks and behaves for you.
The same dialog also holds the Palette, Git config, Keyboard, and Environment tabs — see Managing the palette for Palette; Git config and Environment only matter if you've set up a Project.
